Michael J. Malbin is a professor of political science who specializes in campaigns and elections (especially the role of money in politics) as well as the politics of the U.S. Congress. He teaches UAlbany's Semester in Washington and is executive director of the Campaign Finance Institute, an independent non-partisan think tank in Washington D.C. He has been a reporter for National Journal, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and has held staff appointments on Capitol Hill and the executive branch. He has also been a member of the National Humanities Council, a visiting professor at Yale, and a guest scholar at The Brookings Institution.
