Biography:
Associate Professor Brett Bowles' research focuses on the social and political dimensions of cinema (feature films and documentaries) in France since the 1930's. At the University at Albany, Bowles teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on French politics, society, and culture, as well as European film, translation, and the mass media. He received a doctorate in French civilization from Pennsylvania State University in 1998.
