The DivaCello Quartet performs Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. at the University at Albany.

A special concert in honor of Black History Month will be presented at the University at Albany on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The concert, featuring The DivaCello Quartet, is free and open to the public.

"The DivaCello Quartet will provide a wonderful performance for the University community," said Leonard A. Slade, Jr., professor of Africana Studies and English. "We are expecting guests from the Albany community to be present, too. This group performed at The Palace Theatre the past Friday evening and had the audience in the palm of their hands. They are powerful musicians who can stir the heart and soul of listeners."

The quartet plays music from the classical repertoire, as well as contemporary works and Negro spirituals.

The Black History Month event is sponsored by the departments of Africana Studies and Music.
