Representatives from UAlbany’s Veterans Services set to speak on Spectrum News Albany tomorrow.

(Nov. 9, 2017) ALBANY, N.Y. – Two representatives from UAlbany’s Veterans Services will speak on Spectrum News Albany tomorrow for its live noon show.

Randi McGlauflin, Veteran Services Coordinator, and Glenn Phillips, President of the Veteran Student Group, will be interviewed by Spectrum anchor JoDee Kenney on financial services available to veterans entering, or re-entering, a public university.

McGlauflin and Phillips plan to discuss how the educational benefits like the G.I. Bill are certified at UAlbany, as well as share advice for veterans transitioning to school after service.

Around 300 veteran, military and military dependent students are currently utilizing military or veteran financial assistance at UAlbany. There are 60 current military, as well as 135 veterans enrolled at the University, according to McGlauflin.

The Veterans Tuition Awards (VTA), the Military Service Recognition Scholarship (MSRS) and Military Tuition Assistance are among the financial services available to veterans, current military and military dependents.

Description: In honor of Veterans Day there will be a display of military gear, thank you cards to fill out, a POW table display, light refreshments and much more.

Campus Event: 'Veterans Appreciation Performance'

When: Friday, November 10, 2017. Performance begins at 2pm.

Where: Campus Center West Atrium

Description: An artist will perform 'Emotion Into Art,' a piece designed to thank UAlbany's student veterans. A Reception will follow in the Leadership Lounge.
