Welcome, President Rodríguez

ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2017) — “There are great things happening at this excellent institution” is how Dr. Havidán Rodríguez greets UAlbany in a video address this morning, his first official day as UAlbany’s 20th president. “Together, collaboratively, we can write the next few chapters of the history of this great institution of higher education.”

Rodríguez has spent some time earlier this week walking around campus, informally meeting students, faculty and staff. In the coming months, he will be visiting all three campuses and meeting with different schools and colleges, as well as academic and administrative units.

On Monday, Sept. 18, the entire campus community is invited to meet the new president at a welcome celebration, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Campus Center West Addition, near Starbucks.
