In January, The Social Workers, a weekly radio talk show on UAlbany’s WCDB 90.9 FM, featured School of Social Welfare alumnus David M. Burns LCSW, author of Therapeutic Lessons. He explained concepts such as mental illness, recovery, wellness, group and individual therapy using his experience in an outpatient treatment facility working with clients who suffer from series and persistent mental illness. Burns explored the "tools of the trade" of counseling and treatment and shared a short wish list of changes he would like to see in the mental health system.
