UAlbany School of Business and Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber Partner to Host School’s Weekend MBA Program
ALBANY, N.Y. (June 28, 2012) – Beginning in September, the University at Albany's School of Business will host its Weekend MBA Program at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce headquarters at Five Computer Drive South in Albany. The Weekend MBA Program is targeted and customized for high-level executives in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
"The Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber's state-of the-art facility, vast social network, and central location make it the ideal host for the leading executive MBA program in the Capital Region," said School of Business Dean Donald Siegel. "This exciting new partnership further strengthens our connection to the business community. It also provides a venue for offering our exciting new Information Security Graduate Certificate Program, which is designed to train working professionals in the field of information security."
"Our Chamber has been a working partner with the University at Albany for many years," said Mark Eagan, president and CEO of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce. "The School of Business is highly regarded and we are so pleased to host their executive MBA program."
Utilizing a cohort structure, UAlbany’s Weekend MBA Program brings together professionals from various backgrounds to interact, learn and grow. One of the program highlights includes international travel for students to experience global business firsthand. This year's trip will bring the program participants to India, while former destinations have included Argentina, Ireland, China, and Germany.
UAlbany's School of Business holds an elite distinction -- dual accreditation of both its business administration and accounting programs by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). UAlbany is one of only three public universities in New York State with this dual accreditation.
"We have 56 top- level executives enrolled in our executive MBA program, and our move to the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber will enable us to further expand the program," said Professor Hany Shawky, associate dean for academic programs at the School of Business, who also teaches in the program.
