Biography:
Dr. Peter Vellis serves as the medical director of the University Health Center. Through this role, Dr. Vellis has led planning efforts to minimize the on-campus risk of threatening communicable diseases, consistent with the goals and objectives of the New York State Department of Health.
The University Health Center provides on-going, consistent, high-quality primary health care to University at Albany students that promotes the good physical health and well-being to support student success and life-long healthy habits. The Center provides for a range of services from prevention-focused education and on-going primary care to acute (urgent) medical care.
Dr. Vellis comes to UAlbany from Seton Health in Clifton Park, N.Y. He brings rich clinical and administrative experience to the position. Board Certified in Family Practice with a specialty in Sports Medicine, he has a medical degree from the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Baccalaureate Degree from Union College.
