The DNA Academy at the University at Albany provides superior continuing education for practicing forensic scientists. Scientists already at work in the field may attend single units of the DNA Academy for Professional Development Credit.
At the Academy you will work with outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art equipment [maybe a pop-up listing/describing actual equipment?] to deepen your knowledge and capabilities. NERFI has invested in the newest software, including Genemapper ID 3.2 and Data Collection 3.0.
NERFI’s dedicated, offsite teaching environment means that your training will not interfere with ongoing casework and laboratory operations space.
- NERFI’s facilities, instruments, and procedures are designed to replicate current functioning DNA casework laboratories and New York State Police crime labs.
- Many of NERFI’s instructors are multilingual.
- More than 100 essential forensic DNA journal articles are electronically accessible to students.
ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation
In addition, the DNA Academy has partnered with Quenpro, Incorporated, an Accreditation/Management System, to deliver the highest quality ISO/IEC 17025 training program. Quenpro has extensive experience providing training for many forensic laboratories, and for the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation
Board (ASCLD/LAB).
Your further training in this expanding field will provide you and your employers with the highest possible level of excellence.
