  • How did you get involved?
  • Initially,I got involved on campus by searching myinvolvement.org for clubs/activities that were similar to those that I took part in while in high school. I also looked for organizations that catered to my major. From there I was able to diversify my network of resources on campus.

  • Why is it important to get involved?
  • Because UAlbany's campus is relatively large involvement is vital. It builds a sense of community among the student body, allows students to find their niche, and provides an avenue for students to express themselves in various ways.

  • How did you get involved?
  • I first heard about getting involved at UAlbany in depth at my freshman orientation when I learned about the different organizations and events that were always going on on campus. The "myinvolvement" website and the block party were the main ways that I got involved my freshman year. The rest of it was just word of mouth through peers and friends.

  • Why is it important to get involved?
  • It is important to get involved because it is just another way to make friends and feel like you have a network of people on campus. It makes you feel more at home, and you have less of an urge to go home each weekend.

  • It is important to get involved because it enriches your college experience. I think that it is one of the most essential parts of making your years at UAlbany life changing and memorable.

  • For the last 2 years I was not very involved on campus. I wanted to change that so I asked around and found myself applying to become an orientation group leader.

  • I believe it is important to try and leave your mark, however small wherever you go. College is going to have a lasting impact on your life and it is nice to know that you gave something back.

  • I got involved at UAlbany by first joining the World of Community Service Living-Learning Community during my freshman year.It was a great experience to meet people who have a similar passion.We got together once a week with the professor to discuss goals.We also did an activity where we had to interview the student E-Board members from various organizations and discuss their leadership positions.This was a great opportunity to know more about the different clubs UAlbany has to offer and for me a great way to get more involved.

  • I feel that it is important to get involved because you get to meet individuals who love the activities that you do and it is a great way to give back to the community.
