Roberta Hall Slade earned an M.A. in Music History and Theory from the University of Chicago, where she was a Trustee Fellow and is a candidate for a Ph.D. She earned an M.M. in Musicology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a B.S. in Music Education from Kentucky State University. In addition to the University at Albany, she has taught at Siena College, Skidmore College, and Kentucky State University.
Prof. Hall Slade is currently Director of ARS MUSICA. She is a substitute organist for various area churches and has served as organist/choirmaster as well. She has played the harpsichord in concert and loves to conduct early music ensemble and performance groups.
Her articles have appeared in Clavier Magazine, Journal for National Research in Black Music, and Multicultural Review.
