The Little Carousel

Written and illustrated by Marcia Brown [New York: Charles Scribnerís Sons, 1946]

The Little Carousel is Marcia Brownís first published book. In the early 1940s, Brown lived in an Italian section of Greenwich Village in New York City. The sights and scenes of the neighborhood serve as the inspiration for her story of a lonely young boy who yearns to catch a ride on a traveling merry-go-round.
