State Street Stories:
350 Years of Albany's Heritage

University Art Museum
September 13 - November 10, 2002

Opening Reception: Friday September 13, 5-8 pm

The University Art Museum joins the City of Albany, New York in celebrating the 350th year anniversary of the city's growth from Dutch fur-trading post to its current status as Capital City on the Hudson. In commemoration of this historic milestone, the University Art Museum presents State Street Stories: 350 Years of Albany's Heritage, an exhibition that brings to life many of the compelling narratives that make State Street one of American history's most significant and fascinating thoroughfares.

Featuring paintings, photographs, and a wealth of other archival materials on loan from regionally prominent public and private collections,
State Street Stories offers a vivid portrait of Albany's heritage-a proud community-wide legacy shared by the University and the great city it calls home.
