Nat Frieman:
Form, Space, and Light

Recent wood and stone-carved sculptures by Nat Friedman, Professor Emeriti, Department of Mathematics, University at Albany. Friedman combines the innovations of modern sculpture, mathematics, and elements of form, space, and light to create a personal vision that celebrates his innate love of both physical process and intellectual pursuit.

Professor Friedman is founder and director of the International Society of the Arts, Mathematics and Architecture (www.isama.org). He is the only faculty member at the University at Albany to receive both the Excellence in Teaching Award and Excellence in Research Award. Professor Friedman will give a public lecture entitled Mathematics in Art and Architecture on Friday, October 4 at 7:30 PM.
