XIAOPEI YAN



Research Statement:

Xiaopei Yan is Deputy Director of Zhongshan University’s Centre for Urban and Regional Studies.  She earned her master’s degree in Geography at the University of Southampton, and she has been a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia in spring 2000.  She is the author/editor of six books and more than 5 dozen articles.  She has been particularly active in research on metropolitan transportation systems, including a current collaborative project that deals with transportation policy in two Canadian cities (Montreal, Vancouver) and three Chinese cities (Shanghai, Guangzhou and Lanzhou).
