With a major in accounting and minors in business and economics, Niedzwiecki would like to work at a large accounting firm after graduation. The 20-year-old junior appreciates the McGovern Scholarship, which is enabling him to continue his schooling without having to take out more student loans.
A psychology major with a minor in education, Perea would like to enroll in graduate school and continue her studies in both fields. In addition to helping her with college expenses, the McGovern Scholarship is affording her “an incentive to work hard.” Knowing that someone takes notice of her good grades makes Perea want to work even harder.
Dimino, Perea and Niedzwiecki are all Staten Island natives, as is freshman McGovern Scholar Colin Keegan.
Established by Scott McGovern’s family and friends, the McGovern Scholarship memorializes the Staten Island native, who lost his life in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
