Undergraduate Research Opportunities
If you are an undergraduate interested in mathematics, whether or not you are a mathematics major, consider doing undergraduate research with one of the faculty members.
- UAlbany's strength is a faculty which is highly active in research. Very few undergraduates in mathematics (or any field) choose to get involved in research with faculty, but it can be done, and those who do find it an exciting and rewarding experience. Participating in research entails a much more active kind of learning than taking a course, and a successful project can lead to conference and seminar presentations, research awards, and perhaps even a publication. If you're interested, go see your favorite professor. If he/she discourages you, see Professor Childs [Email: lc802@math.albany.edu].
