Master's Programs - School of Education
UAlbany's School of Education has 19 outstanding programs Master of Arts and Master of Science, including two popular online degrees. These programs bring advancement in educational and other professions, and many fulfill the academic requirements for permanent New York State certification in a wide range of scholastic, administrative and academic support fields.
UAlbany's School of Education has master's degree programs that fit the needs of advanced students who wish to:
- Achieve expertise in childhood education (1-6) and special education
- Earn advanced online degrees in curriculum development & instructional technology and for students who already hold a New York teaching certification in Childhood Education, grades 1-6, a degree in childhood education (literacy)
- Prepare for leadership positions in mental health counseling, other health-related fields, government, social service and corporate training
- Develop professional skills in teaching English as a second language or teaching English abroad
- Enhance understanding of and expertise in Educational Psychology and Methodology;
- Become a literacy specialist or a classroom teacher with a depth of knowledge about literacy issues and amelioration programs in childhood or early childhood education
These master's degrees require a minimum of 30 to 67 credits of coursework beyond the bachelor's degree.
