UAlbany Student Safety Advisory

There have been two off-campus occurrences of physical assault on University at Albany male students and one occurrence of robbery of a University at Albany male student reported to police in the City of Albany since March 21, 2003. The physical assaults occurred on March 22 at 5:19 a.m. on Yates Street between Ontario and Partridge and on March 23 at 4:05 a.m. on Quail Street between Hudson and Hamilton. The robbery occurred on March 21 at 8:15 p.m. on Central Avenue between Quail and North Lake.

As part of the University Police Department's on-going crime prevention effort, if you are out at night, whether off-campus or on, please keep in mind the following safety precautions:

• Travel in groups
   
• Be aware of your surroundings
   
• Avoid isolated areas and dark places
   
• Walk in well lighted areas
   
• If possible, keep a cell phone handy in case of emergencies

It is critical that you use good judgment and common sense concerning your safety.
