We support School of Education courses and local area teachers with a Software Preview Center and personnel experienced in the use of a range of computer-based applications. We also provide consulting services to local educational institutions. |

The Software Preview Center
is used extensively by pre-service and in-service teachers enrolled
in School of Education courses. Its resources are also available to
local teachers, administrators, and other interested community members.

A.D.A.M. & Queue software A.D.A.M. Inc. software has recently donated five interactive CD-ROM programs: A.D.A.M. Essentials (Macintosh)- An exploratory tool for experienced and inexperienced learner wishing to investigate anatomy using an interactive look at a cadaver. This program allows the user to zoom in on areas within the human body and merges sound, color and motion to provide the user with an in depth experience with their subject. A teacher's guidebook has also been included with this software to provide explanation and ideas. A.D.A.M. The Inside Story (Windows)- an introduction to the human body and all the systems within. This program allows the user to explore and identify systems through interactive animation's and illustrations. A.D.A.M. Life's Greatest Mysteries (Windows)- this program intends to debunk myths and shatter illusions about the human body and mind, sickness and curiosities. The program enables teachers to lock out topics that may be sensitive for younger audiences and covers such issues as AIDS and Alzheimer's disease through animation that includes real life video and sound. This software can be used to inform secondary and higher education students about health and science related issues. A teacher's guidebook has also been included with this software to provide explanation and ideas. A.D.A.M. Nine Month Miracle (Windows)-the human body and travel the passage from conception to birth using this interactive software. Look at an ultrasound and an actual vaginal birth! This program allows you to follow the pregnancy throughout the eyes of an adult or a child. A teacher's guidebook has also been included with this software to provide explanation and ideas |

This program has brilliant illustrations and is easy to maneuver in. software has recently donated six CD ROM programs to the LTL: America Goes West (Macintosh)-Students discover American frontier life by learning about settlers and their experiences. Learners expand their frontier history through narrative, maps and quizzes and all texts are available for students or teachers to transfer to word processing files for presentations or reports. |

Ancient Egypt and the Middle East (MS DOS/Windows)- Early Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures are examined through the history of these civilizationšs social, political and religious institutions. A question mode tests the learneršs comprehension, reinforces the material in the program, and allows for individual scoring. Learning All About Animals (MS DOS/Windows)-Students examine animals and animal classification as well as the characteristics, lifestyles and environments of simple animals, worms, mollusks, etc. Natural selection, animal self protection and the balance of nature are also discussed. A question mode tests the learneršs comprehension, reinforces the biology vocabulary in the program and scores individual users. |
