After graduating, Greg Jabaut quickly found a job as a Spanish teacher at Brown School in Schenectady, NY.
He says his experience as a teaching assistant and the knowledge and expertise attained in graduate courses helped him a great deal as he began his career as an educator. "The time I spent as a graduate student in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures has proven to be extremely advantageous both professionally and personally."
At the Brown School, he taught Spanish to grades 1-8, worked as Area Coordinator for grades 3-5, gave Spanish cooking lessons to middle-schoolers and ran a school-wide cultural festival each spring.
Currently, Mr. Jabaut is Assistant Director of International Programs at Siena College.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunities my UAlbany education has afforded me. I count many of my former classmates among my friends and I continued to lecture part time in the Department. I just couldn't bear to leave!"
