Defects:

There is water damage along the top edge. The linen support is detached along the top edge and curled forward. The bottom edge is also detached at the left and right side. Paint loss and flaking have occurred. Drips and stains are scattered over the surface. The paint film is blanched in areas from water damage. There are scattered white Accretions from past renovations.

Recommendations for Treatment

• Remove the grime layer with a mild cleansing agent rinsed with distilled water. Seal soluble paints.
• Consolidate around areas of loss in the paint film.
• Repair damages in the linen support and re-attach curled fabric to wall.
• Re-attach separations at the edges and corners using an appropriate adhesive
• Reform areas where paint is blanched
• Fill areas of loss
• Inpaint as needed
• Apply protective surface coating
