Research Projects:
Suicide in Hebrew Literature
Currently, I am working on my book manuscript tentatively titled, "Suicide as a Metaphor in National Opposition”: The case of Hebrew Literature” This work focuses on the use of suicide as a literary device for expressing opposition to national narratives and national institutions that form the foundations of the Zionist ideological rhetoric.
Modernist Images in Jewish Fiction
I have been working on a series of papers about the use of modernist images such as ‘the bus’, ‘the café’, ‘the street lamp’ and mechanization as they appear in Modern Hebrew Literature. I hope to expand this work to look at the roles of modernist images in European Jewish fiction of the 1880s-1940s.
Contemporary Hebrew Journals in Tel Aviv
In its infancy, this project explores the sociological and literary implications of journals produced in Tel Aviv today. My translations of literature produced from this project will appear in ZEEK magazine.
