Writers Ed Schwarzschild (Responsible Men, The Family Diamond) and Elisa Albert (How This Night Is Different, The Book of Dahlia) will team up to discuss the greatest living American Jewish fiction writer, Philip Roth, through the lens of his first and (at the time of his writing) most recent works, with a focus on his half-century-long themes of rebellion against societal norms.
Writers Elisa Albert and Ed Schwarzschild lead conversation on Philip Roth's works.
Schwarzschild is a professor in UAlbany's English Department, the New York State Writers Institute and an affiliate Judaic Studies faculty member. In addition to How This Night Is Different and The Book of Dahlia, Elisa Albert recently authored the edited collection of Freud's Blind Spot: 23 Original Essays on Cherished, Estranged, Lost, Hurtful, Hopeful, Complicated Siblings.
