Judaic Studies Department
Laura Novello
I began at the University at Albany in the Fall of 2003, and took my first Judaic studies class to cover a General Education requirement. I am a biology major, so Judaic studies classes were a completely different focus for me. I completed most of my requirements, including writing, with Judaic studies classes, continuing my learning from Hebrew school. I also took two semesters of Hebrew, inspired after a Birthright trip to Israel. All the classes challenged me as a step away from all of my science and math classes.
I graduated in Spring 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and minors in Judaic studies and mathematics. I am now in my last year of medical school at Drexel University's College of Medicine in Philadelphia. I will begin my residency in July 2011 in pediatrics. My Judaic studies minor still helps me stand out on my resume.
