I began at the University at Albany in the Fall of 2003, and took my first Judaic studies class to cover a General Education requirement. I am a biology major, so Judaic studies classes were a completely different focus for me. I completed most of my requirements, including writing, with Judaic studies classes, continuing my learning from Hebrew school. I also took two semesters of Hebrew, inspired after a Birthright trip to Israel.
All the classes challenged me as a step away from all of my science and math classes.
I graduated in Spring 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and minors in Judaic studies and mathematics. I will be attending Drexel University College of Medicine in the fall. The Judaic Studies Department was very helpful with advisement and all of my questions, and I am very glad that I chose to minor.
