Student Web Pages
Students may create a personal web page on the ITS UNIX cluster using a UNIX account. Students must follow the guidelines established in the Responsible Use of Computing Technology. See Section II for information about privacy, copyright, harassment and about appropriate use of the account. See Section II part 7B for specific information about web pages.
To Begin
- Activate your ITS UNIX account clicking on the Password button.

- Follow the instructions for Web Page Creation on UNIX.
- You may create your web page directly on UNIX using an editor, for example, Emacs or
- You may create your web pages using any web page authoring tool.
- Then FTP your files from the PC to UNIX.
WS_FTP is available in the public computing user rooms.
- A cgi server is available.
Tools
The ITS public user room PCs have software such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, HTML Kit, XML Kit, etc., to assist in building web sites. Check the software list to see what is available.The Interactive Media Center in the main Library has an extensive collection of web building software and scanners available for student use. Check the IMC Web Pages for details.
