VPN Access at the University at Albany

Virtual Private Network (VPN) access enables employees to access their University Windows network folders from an off-campus location.  You will need an internet connection via an ISP offering broadband service and know your NetID, Windows Network Access password and the path to your Windows network folders.

Getting started:

1. Download and install the VPN Client version appropriate for your computer's operating system.
2. Connect to the internet and run the VPN Client.
3. Login with your NetID and Windows Network Access password.
4. Map your network drive and then access your folders.

Please Note: Installing the VPN client on a computer that is not the property of the University at Albany does not obligate the University to provide technical support for the computer.

We recommend that first time VPN users read the installation and connection instructions before downloading the software.  Instructions for mapping a network drive and configuring your Exchange account are also provided.
