Obtaining your Native Network Settings (IP address)
First, determine your Operating System.Windows XP Professional
- Open Network Connections by open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
- Click the connection you want to configure, and then, under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.
- Do one of the following:
- If the connection is a local area connection, on the General tab, under This connection uses the following items, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
- Record the IP address and Subnet mask as it appears on this page.
- Enter the information in the fields provided on the DHCP Getting Started form.
- Click Cancel to close all windows that opened with this procedure.
Windows 2000 Professional
- Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.
- Right-click the network connection for your network adapter, and then click Properties.
- On the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
- Record the IP address and Subnet mask as it appears on this page.
- Enter the information in the fields provided on the DHCP Getting Started form.
- Click Cancel to close all windows that opened with this procedure.
Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 95
- Right-click Network Neighborhood, and then click Properties.
- On the Configuration tab, click the TCP/IP entry for your network adapter, and then click Properties.
- Click on the IP Address tab.
- Record the IP address and Subnet mask as it appears on this page.
- Enter the information in the fields provided on the DHCP Getting Started form. Click Cancel to close all windows that opened with this procedure.
Windows NT 4.0 Workstation
- Right-click Network Neighborhood, and then click Properties.
- On the Protocols tab, click TCP/IP Protocol, and then click Properties.
- On the IP Address tab.
- Record the IP address and Subnet mask as it appears on this page.
- Enter the information in the fields provided on the DHCP Getting Started form. Click Cancel to close all windows that opened with this procedure.
