The Data Center Support Services unit provides quality system and customer support for a vast array of computing services. We also ensure that the main computing complex is properly managed & maintained so that we are able to meet the ever growing needs of the ITS organization as well as the University community.
Some Key Duties/Responsibilities
Support of the Student Loan Services Center and Pell Loan processing.
Perform critical file backup procedures that are used for file restorations or disaster recovery processes.
Perform a variety of processes/procedures in order to meet University departmental computing needs. This includes report printing and distribution.
Support of the campus¿ centralized Test Scoring services that provides support for approximately 37 departments, 152 faculty members and over 180 call numbers.
System monitoring to reduce potential for service interruptions
Site preparation for incoming equipment to include: space, electrical, telecommunications and A/C needs.
Coordination of all vendor hardware maintenance activities for production systems located in the main computer room area (CS-5).
