Opening Days 2003

Opening days can be a hectic time. We're here to help you through them.

This quick reference page is designed to give you direction in getting started with technology.

To find almost any service or office on campus, look in the University alphabetical site index.
To find technology related services, look in the ITS site index.

Students

New Students — Don't Miss Orientation.

That is where you will activate your MyUAlbany account and your Unix (WebMail, WebCT) account.

Returning Students

If you have not yet activated your MyUAlbany or Unix (Webmail, WebCT) account, do that by resetting your passwords here:

Password Set / Reset

Academic Registration — MyUAlbany now available for drop/add

This summer the telephone voice registration system and PAWS was replaced with an all online web-based course registration system.

Use MyUAlbany for all academic registration actions — drop, add, review holds, get a copy of your class schedule from any web accessible machine.

Print your class schedules from MyUAlbany, check your holds, and financial aid/student account information.

Taking tests - new ID number

When filling out the bubble sheets that are used for many class tests, it is important that students use their 9-digit Albany Id as defined in MyUAlbany. The 9-digit AlbanyID replaced National ID (Social Security Number) as the primary identification number used on campus. Students should NOT use their SSN for test scoring purposes, instead they should use their full 9-digit AlbanyID.

To obtain your ID number, sign on to My UAlbany and choose "My Demographic Information". The Albany ID will be given on the next screen. Click here to see an annotated sample.
