Faculty Technology Resources staff are primarily responsible for supporting faculty using the Blackboard Learning System course management system.  In addition to processing Blackboard course requests, FTR staff are also involved in the following activities:

• Respond to support requests from faculty, students and staff using Blackboard Learning System
• Blackboard Learning System faculty training
• Testing and training on new Blackboard features
• Transition of fully online courses and degrees from the SUNY Learning Network to the Blackboard Learning System
• Pedagogical and best practices assistance for fully online, blended and web-enhanced courses
• Research and testing of instructional technology tools that integrate with Blackboard (i.e., blogs, wikis, anti-plagiarism software)
• Work with other campus organizations including the University Library and the Institute for Teaching Learning and Academic Leadership to facilitate access to a variety of instructional technology tools (i.e., podcasting, video casting, streaming media)

In addition to coordinating Blackboard Learning System training, Faculty Technology Resources staff are available to meet with faculty for one-on-one consultations.  They are also available to facilitate customized Blackboard workshops that cater to a department's and school's instructional needs.
