General VPN FAQs and Troubleshooting
When connecting to the UAlbany wireless network, you are expected to abide by the University's Responsible Use of Information Technology policy.
Executing the VPN Client creates a secure connection over the Internet that allows you access to a private network as if you were an on-site, hard-wired user. This secure connection is a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Through this connection, wireless transmissions are encrypted to prevent unauthorized capture of data. Authentication is required to access the University's wireless network, thus limiting this service to the University community.
Please Note: Installing the VPN client on a computer that is not the property of the University at Albany does not obligate the University to provide technical support for the computer.
