BLS sites can be created to support the online resource needs of academic departments, research teams, departmental teaching assistants, academic support units, and even student activities, service organizations, and clubs.
Students, if you wish to use Blackboard for these purposes, a faculty/staff sponsor must agree to act as a primary administrator for the site. You should contact the potential faculty/staff sponsor for agreement prior to submitting your request.
To set up a BLS site for a UAlbany organization, submit the Non-instructional BLS Request Form. Requests will be received and evaluated for approval and you will be contacted if further information is necessary. Notification of request status will be sent by email. Please allow 1-2 business days to receive notification or contact regarding your request.
Non-Instructional BLS sites will have an academic year life-cycle. If approved, your site will be created for the current or upcoming academic year and you must be request renewal for each following academic year.
