Summary: Apple has released updated versions of its popular iTunes and Quicktime applications.  iTunes 8.2 and Quicktime 7.6.2 fix a number of vulnerabilities which could be exploited by the opening of a maliciously-crafted website, handling of a maliciously-crafted movie file, or handling of a maliciously-crafted web address (URL).  Successful exploitations of these vulnerabilities could result in system crash or takeover of a vulnerable computer.

Recommended Actions:  iTunes/Quicktime users and system administrators are encouraged to read the security advisories (safe links provided below) and update their iTunes and Quicktime applications as soon as possible. Readers are encouraged to share this alert with family, friends, and associates.
