Attention: Adobe Acrobat and Reader users, System Administrators, Desktop Support Personnel.

Summary: Adobe Systems has released updates for its popular Acrobat and Reader applications.  The updates address two critical security vulnerabilities which could be exploited by the handling of a maliciously-crafted PDF document as described in ALARM alert 042909-01. 

Recommended Actions:  Acrobat and Reader users/System Administrators are encouraged to read the security bulletin(s) and install the necessary security update(s) as soon as possible (safe links provided below).

NOTE: Adobe recommends that all users update to version 9.1.1 but has made provisions for users who cannot or choose not to update their software to the latest version.  Updates to version 8.1.5 (for 8.x users) and 7.1.2 (for 7.x) users are available from the Adobe downloads pages.
