Attention: Acrobat and Reader users, System Administrators, Desktop Support Personnel.

Summary: Adobe systems has released version 9.1 of its popular Acrobat and Reader applications.  Acrobat/Reader 9.1 fixes a critical vulnerability in the handling of PDF documents that was detailed in ALARM alert 022009-01. 

Recommended Actions:  Acrobat and Reader (version 9) users on Mac and Windows systems are encouraged to read the security bulletin and apply the update(s) as soon as possible.

NOTE for Adobe version 7, 8, and UNIX users:  According to the Adobe Security Bulletin "Adobe is planning to make available updates for Adobe Reader 7 and 8, and Acrobat 7 and 8, by March 18. In addition, Adobe plans to make available Adobe Reader 9.1 for Unix by March 25."  Users of these versions/platforms are encouraged to read the bulletins and apply the updates when they are made available from the vendor.
