Email Requests for Account Names and Passwords are Fraudulent

Recent requests purporting to come from the "albany.edu TEAM," or "The Albany Support Team," or similar variations, requiring members of the University community to reply with their account names, passwords, dates of birth, etc. are all fraudulent.

ITS will never ask faculty, students, or staff to reveal their passwords. All such requests, particualry via email, can be safely ignored. Any questions or doubts about the legitimacy of these requests can be resolved by contacting Marty Manjak, the Information Security Officer, or the ITS Help Desk (2-3700).
