Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Standard and 'Itanium', inlcuding Service Pack 1 for either systems, x64 Edition). Microsoft Windows Serivces for UNIX (2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0, 3.5) when running on Windows 2000.

Summary:  In addition to its regular security update On July 12, Microsoft released a revised version of Security Bulletin MS05-033 (initial release date was June 14 2005). The revised update addresses a newly-discovered vulnerability in the Telnet service whose severity is listed as "moderate" by the vendor.

Recommended Actions:  Windows system managers and support personnel are encouraged to read the bulletin (including all potential caveats) and (if appropriate) apply the patch(es) immediately as per the instructions detailed in the bulletins.

ITS Actions:  If applicable, ITS Systems Management and Operations Staff will apply the patches to the appropriate ITS servers as part of the next scheduled system update.
