Exchange Service Fully Restored — 12:00 noon, 6/5/04

The Exchange server, Email1, is up and running and mail that has been queued for delivery is being delivered. The campus Exchange service is now fully restored.

While we do not expect further problems, we will continue to monitor the service over the weekend.

We appreciated your support and patience during this service outage.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Exchange mail and calendaring service is still not functioning properly. ITS personnel have been working with Dell technical representatives to fix this problem through the night and at this point, we are anticipating the service to be restored at noon.

The Exchange mail and calendar server is still not functioning properly. It is anticipated that the service may be down the remainder of the night.

Exchange Outage Update — 4:00 pm, 6/3/04

The Exchange mail and calendar server restore is continuing. Please check this alert page for updates through the evening. Next scheduled update will be around 8pm. If conditions change earlier than 8pm this page will be updated accordingly.


Exchange Outage Update — 12:45 pm, 6/3/04

The restoration process continues on the Exchange mail and calendar server. Unfortunately, the service will not be available for the remainder of the business day.

It is suggested that you continue to check this page for updates should conditions change.

Next scheduled update will be at 4pm.


Exchange Outage Update — 10:30 am, 6/3/04

The Exchange mail and calendaring service remains unavailable. ITS is working with Dell to address the hardware problems and service will be restored as soon as possible.

Mail delivered to the Exchange server is being queued for delivery and will be delivered once the service is restored. Thus while mail will be delayed, we expect no loss of mail. However, when the Exchange service is restored, there may be a slow down in mail and calendering service as the queued messages are delivered.

Again, we apologize for all the inconvenience caused by this problem.


Exchange Outage Announcement — 8:30 am, 6/3/04

Around 4:00 am this morning, the Exchange mail and calendar server suffered a hardware failure.

The problem is being addressed and service is expected to resume early this afternoon. While some users may be able to send and receive emails with other Exchange users, no one will be able to send or receive messages from addresses other than on campus.

Updates will be provided as appropriate. We apologize for this inconvenience.
