Process Explorer

  Experience Level II (Advanced)

 Malware Detection Utility

  Free for Personal use

Description of Process Explorer:
This program shows you all running processes and information about each process. It is similar to "Task Manager", but more comprehensive. This program is especially useful for finding pernicious spyware and all its linked processes.

Basic Instructions for use:
Download and run the program. You will notice a large list of files. These are the current processes of your computer. Most of these proceses are normal; many are nessesary for the operating system to run correctly. However, some may also be spyware. You can look up any names you don't recognize using a Internet search engine of your choice.

Note that terminating a process does not delete the file that started it.

Please refer to the Sys-Internals website for more information. Also, use carefully, as killing a important process may cause your computer to become unstable, restart, or loose data.
