Check Browser


Before attempting to ‘Log In’, please confirm that your computer and web browser settings are compatible with the UAlbany IT service you want to use.  These web services are accessed with a valid UAlbany NetID and UNIX password.  Your browser and internet connection must allow access to a secure site (https://).  Always confirm that the date, time and time zone settings on the computer are correct for your location.  

Please review the checklist below and adjust your browser according to the service before attempting the ‘Log In’ step. 

REMINDER:  To log out securely and completely from any IT service requiring authentication, you must close the browser to end the session.

MyUAlbany browser requirements (students and employees):
  • Language preference must be set to English.
  • Allow cookies from the albany.edu domain.
  • Disable pop-up blockers during your MyUAlbany session.
IAS browser requirements (authorized employees only):
  • Internet Explorer is the preferred browser for administrative users. 
  • Allow cookies from albany.edu domain.
  • Disable pop-up blockers during your IAS session.

Blackboard Learning System browser requirements (students and faculty):                     
  • Complete the BLS Check Browser to confirm your browser's compatibility.


If after making adjustments to the browser and clearing the browser's cache (or temporary internet files folder) you are still unable to login, contact the ITS HelpDesk.
