IROW and CELAC Receive NYS/UUP Grant On Cultural Diversity
The Institute for Research on Women (IROW) and the Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (CELAC) have recently received a grant from the New York State/United University Professions Joint Labor Management Committee on Affirmative Action for a cultural diversity project entitled "Womenet Bibliographic Data Base and Curriculum on Puerto Rican Women." The goal of this project is to develop a bibliographic data base that will provide reference information on the available research on Puerto Rican women published in both English and Spanish. The data base will be operational by Fall 1992, with print versions available by Summer 1991 for the Faculty Development Seminar described elsewhere in this issue. The Joint Labor Management Committee grant will also allow print versions to be given free to a limited number of SUNY faculty who request them next summer. This initial data base will become the basis for an expanded one on Latin American and Caribbean women's research.
