The Winterthur Museum solicits papers for a conference "The Material Culture of Gender/The Gender of Material Culture," scheduled for November 10-11, 1989. Conference organizers seek a wide-ranging examination of links between sexuality and material culture. Papers may address any North American subject from the seventeenth century to the twentieth. Cross-cultural perspectives are welcome, as are contributions from any discipline. Speakers receive an honorarium plus expenses. Papers will be published. Frontiers: A Journal of Women Studies welcomes submissions to its second special issue on Las Chicanas. They are seeking articles, reviews, personal essays, short fiction, poetry and photography from around the world, especially from all the Americas. Articles should be typed, double-spaced, and should follow the Chicago Manual of Style (13th. ed.). Send three copies by May 5, 1989 with author's name on cover page only. The Women's Studies Quarterly plans a special issue, "Curriculum Transformation/ Affirmative Action/Institutional Change." Guest editors are Angela B. Ginorio, Marilyn Monteiro, and Betty Schmitz. The issue will assess institutional changes aimed at incorporating women into all aspects of academic life. Papers are encouraged focusing on women of color.
