Fraternity & Sorority Recruitment

 

Requirements

All potential new members or aspirants must meet the following criteria prior to the start of rush and/or their pledge process:

  1. Be at least a second semester freshmen with 12 completed college credits.
  2. Have at least a 2.5 GPA*
  3. Complete a Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Intro to Fraternity and Sorority Life session (formerly Greek Convocation) on MyInvolvement. The form can be found here.

Meeting the above stated criteria does not guarantee your acceptance into a social fraternity or sorority.  

Membership Intake

Intake is a process by which members are identified and brought into their new chapter. The following groups recruit using the intake process:

If you are interested in joining one of these chapters, we invite you to attend the NPHC Meet the Greeks, MGFC Meet the Greeks and/or the LGC Meet the Greeks. Times, locations, and dates will be announced on MyInvolvement.org.

Individual chapters will advertise informational meetings throughout the year. Some chapters only hold intake in the spring and others hold intake both semesters.

Serving the community and mentoring others are the primary focuses of these chapters. Please refer to the chapters’ national websites or contact active members for additional information about the requirements for joining.

Interfraternity Conference and National Panhellenic Conference Recruitment

Recruitment is the process in which sororities and fraternities acquire new members. Potential new members visit each organization and are invited to events where they learn about each organization’s history and what makes them special. This process gives potential new members and members of the organizations the opportunity to get to know each other on a one-on-one basis.
