All Greek Council (AGC)

Letter from AGC

Hi All!

The University at Albany offers thousands of opportunities for each student. One of the amazing opportunities that our university provides is a diverse fraternity, sorority and social fellowship community. The University at Albany is home to 38 recognized fraternities, sororities and social fellowships. Becoming involved in one of these organizations will provide you so many opportunities. All Greek organizations are founded on the same fundamentals of Brotherhood or Sisterhood, Education, Leadership and Community Service. Although there are hundreds of amazing organizations on our campus, only Greek organizations can provide students with the unique opportunity to gain a family, educational support, community service opportunities, networking and fun all in one! Our Greek community is made up of some of the best and brightest leaders that our University has to offer.

Regardless of what you’ve seen in movies, or the horror stories you have heard about fraternities and sororities, our organizations pride ourselves on the positive impact we make on our campus. Although you cannot join an organization as a first semester freshman, we invite you to come out to our programs and events we hold almost daily this semester and to know us!  Deciding to go join one of our illustrious organizations is not something that should be taken lightly, as it is a big commitment. Do your research, get to know the active chapter members and more importantly do not hesitate to contact a member of the Fraternity and Sorority Affairs staff if you have any questions. Good luck on your journey and we hope you seriously consider joining our ever growing family!

Good Luck!

Sincerely,
