World AIDS Week
Tuesday, November 28th:

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION: Doug Weiss, UAlbany Class of '85, presents
"Coming Home to Life" - Doug learned he
was HIV positive shortly after graduation from UAlbany. He is thrilled
to come "home" and share his story with us, from being an
RA, to hearing how he needed to "get his affairs in order"
in his early 20s, to the truly stunning revelation that his HIV is
now undetectable. "I have come home to my own life..." is
how Doug likes to say it. Come hear him tell us how. Refreshments

Wednesday, November 29th:

AIDS Update, presented by Dapo Akinleye, MPH. Mr.
Akinleye teaches in our School of Public Health and works for the
Department of Health and Bureau for HIV/AIDS where he studies new
cases of HIV in New York State. 9:00 PM, Dutch Quad Penthouse
Thursday, November 30th:

Free, anonymous 20 minute HIV tests available by
the NYS Department of Health staff. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Noon
to 3:00 PM, CC 375 & 370

"The Laramie Project" - This film chronicles
the murder and gay-bashing of Matthew Shepard and events that followed
his death. 8:00 PM - Danes after Dark- Terrace Lounge

"Clara et Moi" - A man falls deeply in
love with Clara and then finds out she has HIV; a memorable love story.

Friday, December 1st:
Project
SHAPE is once again adopting two low-income families in the Capital
Region affected by HIV for the holidays through the AIDS Council of Northeastern
NY. We will be doing fund-raising by wrapping holiday gifts at Border's
Books on Wolf Road. Donations will also be accepted at these programs
and are much appreciated!
