Run For Student Association Senate
Student Association is holding mid-term elections to fill the following six Senate vacancies:
- At-Large (elected by the entire campus) – 3
- Dutch Quad - 1
- Freedom Apartments - 1
- Off-Campus - 1
Self-nomination forms can be obtained in the Student Association office (Campus Center 116) and are due Wednesday, November 19, 2008 to the SA Office by 4:55 p.m. A mandatory candidates meeting will be held on November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Campus Center Assembly Hall. Campaigning begins on November 25, 2008 at 12:01 a.m. and elections will be held via MyUAlbany on December 3rd and 4th.

The Student Association Senate acts as the legislative branch of the Student Association, and is directly charged with several functions that are critical to the ongoing success of the Student Association. The Senate works in conjunction with the President's Office and the Board of Finance in order to allocate and budget the nearly $2 million in Student Activity Fee revenues to the wide range of student groups, services, and programs that the Student Association provides each year. The Senate is further charged with ensuring that each area of the Student Association receives a budget that is suited to their needs, and also that each group, service, and office is operating and functioning properly.
