Middle Earth Needs YOU! Do you enjoy helping others with concerns? Do you want to be a Hotline Counselor or Peer Educator? You can make a difference! Middle Earth, a nationally recognized organization that provides services to the University at Albany community through a student-staffed hotline and outreach programs, is currently recruiting for the Spring 2006 Training Class. One of its most well-known initiatives is the Middle Earth Players, a group of peer educators who utilize theater to educate the community on issues related to alcohol and other drug prevention, relationships, adjustment to college life, and diversity. Middle Earth is an excellent avenue for students to gain experience and preparation for careers in psychology, social work, teaching, medicine, communication and other related fields. Anyone can apply, regardless of his or her major. Course credit is available through ECPY 400, 403, 404, 405, and 497 within the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology.
