UAlbany Coming Out Week: October 20th- 23rd

The Pride Alliance and SA's Gender & Sexuality Concerns Office will host Coming Out Week to raise awareness around gay, lesbian, bisexual, & transgender student issues. Come OUT UAlbany - we are ready to receive you!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Monday, October 20th:

Coming Out Stories for Allies. Allies, whether straight or not, come together to share your stories of coming out as an ally of an LGBT person! HU 133, 7:30-8:30pm.Sponsored by Pride Alliance.
Coming Out Stories for LGBT Students. HU 133, 8:30-9:30pm. Sponsored by Pride Alliance.

Tuesday, October 21st:

Coming Out As A Person Of Color. In conjunction with In Our Own Voices, this program focuses on the difficulties of coming out as a LGBT person of color. HU 132 from 7:30-9:30pm. Sponsored by Pride Alliance.
Out in the Workplace? Workplace Issues for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Allied Students. This event will feature presentations by two guest speakers, as well as a panel discussion on the issues Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer students face when looking for and transitioning to their first professional job. Wednesday, October 22nd:

Open Forum. Join other concerned students in a safe space to discuss reactions to hate and how it affects our campus community. HU 132, 8:00-9:30pm. Sponsored by Pride Alliance.

Thursday, October 23rd:

End Of Coming Out Week Reception. Open to the entire University. A FREE T-shirt will be given to the first 50 people through the door. Event will have FREE food, speakers, and student coming out stories. Campus Center Ballroom, 7:30- 9:00pm.

Come OUT as an ally and a friend and support the LGBT community at UAlbany. Come OUT UAlbany - we are ready to receive you!
